Amadeus API integration services
Amadeus API integration for travel agencies and booking platforms
Amadeus is one of the largest global distribution systems, carrying fares and inventory from hundreds of airlines. We connect the Amadeus travel API to your website, booking engine or B2B portal: low fare search, pricing, PNR creation and ticketing through your consolidator or your own accreditation. You bring the Amadeus agreement; we build, certify and maintain the integration to a written scope.

What the Amadeus API gives your travel business
Amadeus is a global distribution system (GDS): a marketplace where airlines, hotels and other suppliers publish inventory that accredited travel sellers can search and book. Its APIs expose that marketplace to software, so your website or portal can search live fares, hold seats and issue tickets instead of an agent keying everything into a terminal. Amadeus is generally regarded as having particularly deep airline coverage across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, which is one reason so many Indian and UK agencies sell on it.
An Amadeus GDS integration is one route to flight content, not the only one. If you have not yet decided between a GDS, a consolidator API or an NDC connection, start with our overview of GDS integration and the broader flight API integration service, then come back here once Amadeus is on your shortlist.
Amadeus content and flows we integrate
We build the full journey from search box to e-ticket, using the Amadeus flight API functions your access level provides:
- Low fare search: one-way, return and multi-city shopping with cabin, airline and stop filters, normalised into your own results page
- Pricing and fare rules: re-validation of the selected fare before payment, with baggage and rule summaries shown honestly to the traveller
- PNR creation and management: passenger, contact and document data written to the reservation, with retrieval and change flows for your back office
- Ticketing: e-ticket issue through your consolidator, or on your own plate if you hold IATA accreditation and an Amadeus ticketing agreement
- Post-booking servicing: cancellations, voids and queue handling surfaced in your admin panel rather than left in the terminal
The same integration can power a public B2C website, an agent-facing B2B travel portal or an internal call-centre screen. The API work is shared; the front ends differ.
Self-Service vs Enterprise: the two access paths
Amadeus for Developers offers two commercial routes into the same underlying system, and choosing the wrong one is the most common false start we see.
| Self-Service APIs | Enterprise APIs | |
|---|---|---|
| Getting started | Online sign-up, test keys almost immediately, pay-as-you-go per call | Commercial negotiation with Amadeus or an Amadeus partner; contracts take longer |
| Content | Published fares and a curated set of REST APIs for search, pricing and booking | Fuller GDS capability: negotiated and private fares, richer PNR servicing, more airline options |
| Ticketing | Typically completed through a consolidator arrangement | Direct ticketing possible with IATA or ARC accreditation |
| Best for | Startups, metasearch, validation-stage products | Established agencies, OTAs and TMCs with volume and accreditation |
Many clients begin on Self-Service to prove demand, then migrate to Enterprise once volumes and accreditation justify it. We design the integration so that migration changes the connector, not your whole website.
What you need before integration starts
- A commercial relationship with Amadeus (Self-Service account or Enterprise agreement) or with a consolidator who provides Amadeus-sourced content
- Ticketing capability: your own IATA/ARC accreditation, or a consolidator who issues on your behalf
- A registered travel business with the identity and policy pages that payment gateways and ad platforms expect
- A payment gateway for your market, since Amadeus distributes fares but does not collect your customer payments
- Clarity on markets and currencies, because point-of-sale configuration affects which fares you see
We do not resell Amadeus access and we cannot obtain credentials for you; the agreement must be in your name. What we can do is tell you, before you sign anything, whether the access being offered actually supports the flows you want, and we can build the site around a flight booking engine that is ready for the credentials when they arrive.
Certification and go-live
Production access on the fuller Amadeus paths is not automatic. Integrations are typically built and tested against a test environment first, and Amadeus or your consolidator may review booking and ticketing flows before granting production keys. We prepare for that review deliberately: clean error handling, correct passenger data formats, sensible retry behaviour and no abusive polling. Certification requirements vary by access path and by market, so we confirm the exact checklist with your Amadeus contact at project start rather than guessing.
What actually drives the cost of an Amadeus integration
We quote fixed prices per project, but it helps to understand what moves the number:
- API call economics: Self-Service is priced per call beyond free quotas, so search volume matters; Enterprise terms are negotiated with Amadeus and are between you and them
- Look-to-book ratio: GDS relationships generally expect a sane ratio of searches to bookings, so caching and search throttling are engineering work, not afterthoughts
- Scope of flows: search-and-redirect is far cheaper to build than search, book, ticket and service
- Front ends: one B2C site, or also a B2B portal and agent tools
- Servicing depth: how much cancellation, reissue and refund handling you want in your own panel versus your consolidator's back office
We do not publish Amadeus prices because they are not ours to publish and they vary by agreement. Anyone quoting you a universal per-segment figure without seeing your contract is guessing.
How we run the project
Access review
We look at the Amadeus or consolidator agreement you have or are negotiating, confirm it supports your intended flows, and produce a written scope and fixed quote.
Build against test
Search, pricing, booking and ticketing flows built and exercised against the Amadeus test environment, with caching and error handling from day one.
Certification support
We prepare the test cases and evidence your Amadeus contact or consolidator asks for, and fix whatever the review raises.
Launch and maintain
Production cut-over, monitoring for API errors and fare anomalies, and an optional maintenance plan for schema and content changes.
Timelines depend mostly on credential lead times and certification queues, which are outside any developer's control. The engineering itself is the predictable part; we will give you a realistic range at scoping rather than a promise we cannot keep.
Independence and trademarks
Amadeus is a trademark of its owner. Globitude Travels & Tech is an independent software integrator: we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or partnered with Amadeus, we do not resell Amadeus inventory, and we do not issue tickets. Content access always runs on your own commercial agreement with Amadeus or an authorised consolidator.
Frequently asked questions
How do I integrate the Amadeus API into my website?
In outline: obtain access (a Self-Service developer account, an Enterprise agreement, or a consolidator who provides Amadeus content), build search, pricing and booking flows against the test environment, pass whatever certification your access path requires, then go live with production keys. We handle the engineering and certification preparation; the commercial agreement stays in your name.
Is the Amadeus Self-Service API enough for a real travel agency?
Often yes for launch: it covers flight search, pricing and booking on published fares with pay-as-you-go pricing. Agencies that need negotiated fares, deeper servicing or direct ticketing usually graduate to Enterprise access. We build so the front end survives that migration.
Can I issue tickets without IATA accreditation?
Not on your own authority. Non-accredited agencies normally issue through a consolidator: your website creates the booking via the Amadeus flight API and the consolidator tickets it under their accreditation. Ticketing on your own plate requires IATA or ARC accreditation and the right Amadeus agreement.
How long does an Amadeus GDS integration take?
The engineering for a typical search-to-ticket build is measured in weeks, but total elapsed time depends on credential issuance and certification queues at Amadeus or your consolidator. We give a realistic range at scoping once we see your access situation, rather than quoting a fixed number of days here.
Do you provide Amadeus API credentials or fares?
No. We are an independent integrator, not an Amadeus partner or reseller. Credentials and fares come from your own agreement with Amadeus or an authorised consolidator. This separation is deliberate: it keeps your supplier relationship yours and our advice honest.
